I love this animation by Michaela Pavlatova, I am currently in a coffee shop and have been in several today, its a good representation of all the different conversations and interactions gong on that happen in coffee shops, it also makes me nostalgic of student days spent drawing people in coffee shops, usually on trips to europe which always seemed to happen at the coldest time of year (cheapest time) which resulted in lots of drawings away from the cold!
after lots of hard work from Anna Wolf Untitled 4 is out! there is a launch party on monday! unfortunately I am unable to transport myself there but pleased to hear some close friends will be able to stop by. check out untitled magazine
you know when you think your taking a photo and you get clips of film on your digital camera i think i prefer the clips to what the photo would have been, they are like snap shots of memory- really quite magical , its nicer watching it without sound , without the oh its a video' voice over... ha and whilst looking through these found this video of my sister and her boyfriend morgan at the top of kasprowy in the tatra mountains after morgan had already broken his wrist snowboarding :)
me and dan morris managed to get access to a secret magic letterpress location to explore to our hearts content the excitement letterpress has to offer... for studio we set up this poster last week.. so much fun! if you like the print you can purchase one for £10 at the studio we shop!

we had a studio outing to whittington yesterday and only to find and meet eccentric, type enthusiasts at the whittington press letterpress studio open day, studios included guest visits by the occasional print club...and hand&eye letterpress studio that were doing demos and printing posters. And of course the legend that is dennis gould i am becoming his biggest fan! It might have been because the book fair was amongst trees and green that i couldnt stop comparing it to the scene in farenheit 451 when all the book people meet in the forest to become and recite novels , i had a very inspiring day, and whittington summer fete was certainly very english, morris dancing, a dog show! cakes ,tea, tom-bolas, and bunting all round. more photos can be seen on the studio we flickr account
over the last few days I have been helping george harvey of studio weekend screen print his 4 foot long version of 'the weekend' by Harold Monro out of 15 attempts there were a fair few successes! considering it was pieced together amongst four screens and two layers. we have a small screen print facility at studio weekend which can be testing at times but we managed to get through it without too many bickerings and painted faces :) it is a lovely poem! and i thought it would also look great on a tote so have started printing on some totes today!
my friend lent me this book today and its literally the best thing i have come across in ages, fascinting and quite random, full of amazing illustrations, and sentences that start with, 'traditional country wisdom recommends....and crazy little facts like;
'At the end of summer you will often see small clouds of flying ants, particularly when a thunderstorm is brewing. These clouds are known as 'ant weddings' because this is when the male ants mate with the queen ants. Like the honeybee drones the males die after they have 'pleasured' the queen'
the new craze that ive totally fallen for - follow studio weekend and myself on twitter if you are like me lately , somebody who interacts more with their keyboard than real human faces.sad but true , possibly to do with the cyborg theory...
