I have been screen printing and making notebooks and cards for a pop up shop opening tonight on middle st in stroud called 'Nothing but Navy' come along this evening from 6-9pm and enjoy some mulled wine, Stroud Ales and Hobb's Bakery delicacies oh and a load of beautiful hand made product submitted by artists such as Verity Keniger, Lizzy Stewart, Nicola Kane, myself and many more....

Aire Projects

Aire Projects is a Hackney based arts organisation dedicated to giving young people a voice. We do this by offering free photography and computer arts workshops to the less fortunate in the community. Founded by Jamie Leith, the long-term aim of Aire is to offer a range of engaging, educational and creative projects to the hardest to reach young people in the Hackney area and beyond.

Over the coming months we will be running a series of workshops and events conceptualised and created with the aim of telling the stories of the people we work with. These will culminate in exhibitions seen in a range of new and exciting ways, open to the whole community. We want to highlight the need for more creative resources for young people; places where they can feel inspired and free to learn and express themselves away from the pressures of a classroom environment. This would result in the participants acquiring skills and disciplines that can be transferred to other aspects of their lives. Whilst the students will be taking part in short term courses, these courses seek to provide them with skill sets which are very much focused on being more long-term solutions.

Aire Projects’ aim is to open a creative centre that is not only used, but nurtured by the people we work with. We want to be able to offer them the chance to work within the studio, furthering knowledge and potentially shaping a career. We are embarking on this journey at a time when government investment in such projects is at an all time low, but the social need is greater than it ever has been. If you are interested in helping out in any capacity, or feel you have something to offer, please contact us on:

I actually first watched this on holly wales blog today and it has stuck in my head all day, Ken Robinson makes some good points about the future of education and recognising individuals for their creativity and the way we all can communicate quite differently from another- with some really brilliant examples, as education is changing so much, it has to , it would excite me to see people recognising the importance of creativity and alternative ways of teaching across all subject matters.

I also went to see Dead Star Light today at the Arnolfini by Kerry Tribe Her film H.M. based on the true story of an anonymous, memory impaired man, known in scientific literature only as 'Patient H.M.' In 1953 at the age of 27, H.M underwent experimental brain surgery intended to alleviate his epilepsy with the unintended result being persistant amnesia.
Go and see it is profound!

The Cube were showing this beautiful film on Sunday at Spike Island as part of a fund raiser for Haiti Kids-

For the last two weeks I have been honored to be one of 30 past foundation students to be taking part in the drawing workshops set up by Mick Maslen and Jack Southern at Pitville Studios in Cheltenham. It was amazing to meet the other students from the cheltenham foundation course and to be taught by Mick again,a past tutor of mine. the one great thing about hanging out chez mes parents is that i come across treasure on a daily basis amongst the organised chaos of communal storage that exists around the house, this can be in the form of old photographs, mix tapes,old art projects, videos and books and general bric and brak.

this week its amazing books that i have failed to notice after living here for years

I cannot emphasis enough how amazing the photographs are in this book!The whole book is made up of 250 spreads of photographs shot by 50 photojournalists all over the Soviet Union on May 15th 1987.

Following a conversation me and dan had about the claim that to offset your carbon foot-print you need to plant 2 trees per person per year. we decided to take it into our own hands....
So this is how me and dan spent our monday night- running around his backgarden trying to get our secret tree planting antics on camera unsuccessfully as we were not filming in night vision! and our great disguises seemed to work realy well, take after take after take of dan doing body rolls onto the compost heap! to my hysterical laughter and scatty torch lighting. :)

I love this animation by Michaela Pavlatova, I am currently in a coffee shop and have been in several today, its a good representation of all the different conversations and interactions gong on that happen in coffee shops, it also makes me nostalgic of student days spent drawing people in coffee shops, usually on trips to europe which always seemed to happen at the coldest time of year (cheapest time) which resulted in lots of drawings away from the cold!

you know when you think your taking a photo and you get clips of film on your digital camera i think i prefer the clips to what the photo would have been, they are like snap shots of memory- really quite magical , its nicer watching it without sound , without the oh its a video' voice over...
ha and whilst looking through these found this video of my sister and her boyfriend morgan at the top of kasprowy in the tatra mountains after morgan had already broken his wrist snowboarding :)
